Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN)

Summary:

Groups offers a well-established, evidence-based approach to Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), recognized as the premier standard for addressing opiate use disorder by esteemed organizations such as the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Association (SAMHSA). We empower our members to reclaim control over their lives through a blend of therapy and medication.

Nurse Practitioner/ Advance Practice Nurse (1099) Requirements:

• Valid, unrestricted State License (NP/APRN) in Iowa.
• Active, Individual DEA registration with an Iowa address (Note: If you plan to prescribe in multiple states, you'll need a separate DEA for each state where you intend to prescribe).
• DEAX certification, previously mandatory for Buprenorphine prescription, or Proof of completing an 8-hour Qualified Training as assigned by SAMHSA (Preference given to those with experience in prescribing in the MAT/SUD domain; indirect/related experience also considered).
• Confirmation of Active Board Certification (NP/ APRN; any specialty).
• Availability to work in-office at our Groups location for a minimum of 5 hours per week.

Nurse Practitioner/ Advance Practice Nurse (1099):

• Assist in conducting intakes. Providers engage with patients after they've undergone thorough evaluation by counselors.
• Monitor patients progress during regular group counseling sessions. Counseling sessions are led by specialized staff; providers participate by addressing queries and overseeing medication dosing.
• Authorize patients prescriptions during monthly visits with assigned patient panels.
• Ensure completion of all documentation and reporting in Groups EMR system within specified deadlines (Providers undergo comprehensive orientation and training on Clinical Protocols before commencing work with Groups).
