The Clinical Services Supervisor, reporting to the Clinical Director, is responsible for overseeing all clinical aspects of an inpatient substance abuse treatment program. This role includes directing, supervising, and monitoring the clinical team as they provide treatment services and aftercare planning for clients. The Clinical Services Supervisor also offers individual therapy, manages treatment plans, advocates for clients, provides counseling, and conducts crisis intervention.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Clinical Director and counseling staff to develop a continuum of care for program participants.
- Supervise daily operations of the counseling team, ensuring the delivery of family-focused and trauma-informed mental health services.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, and participate in case conferences.
- Assess curricula and program materials for clinical suitability, approving new materials as necessary.
- Ensure counseling staff receive adequate training on the curricula being utilized.
- Oversee the assessment of newly admitted clients and manage the scheduling of treatment activities, caseload assignments, and clinician performance evaluations.
- Review and authorize all clinical documentation, including treatment progress notes and care coordination plans, while conducting regular quality assurance checks.
- Evaluate staff performance, fostering strengths and addressing weaknesses.
- Act as a liaison with families, providing insights and recommendations for program enhancements.
- Continuously assess client needs to adapt treatment strategies effectively.
- Perform regular chart reviews to ensure compliance with record-keeping and regulatory standards.
- Attend meetings called by the Clinical Director to discuss program revisions and improvements, contributing suggestions.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, advising the Clinical Director on necessary corrective actions.
- Uphold performance and conduct standards consistent with organizational expectations.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- A master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, such as medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or nursing.
- Licensure or certification in New York State.
- Must be classified as a Qualified Health Professional (QHP).
- A minimum of three to five years of experience in substance abuse treatment counseling and supervision.
