Job Overview

The RN Clinical Supervisor with Administrative Responsibilities will oversee the nursing department during the weekend shifts. This position is responsible for applying the nursing process-assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation-in accordance with state regulations for Registered Nurses. The RN Supervisor coordinates the effective use of resources, ensures timely care, and facilitates communication between departments to enhance resident satisfaction. In addition, this role manages the nursing department in the absence of the Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred but not required.
• CPR certification is a must.

Experience

• At least two years of nursing experience, including one year in a supervisory role, is preferred.

Physical and Sensory Demands

• Ability to move freely throughout the facility during shifts.
• Must be able to communicate in English clearly and effectively.
• Capability to handle the emotional and mental demands of the position.
• Adequate vision and hearing or the ability to use prosthetics to meet these requirements.
• Independent functioning with flexibility, integrity, and strong collaboration skills.
• Must meet health standards, including a medical exam.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform physical movements such as kneeling, bending, and reaching.
• Ability to assist with evacuations in emergencies.
• Travel to other locations may be required.

Work Environment

• Work takes place in different areas of the facility.
• Occasional exposure to unpleasant conditions such as infection risks or odors.
• Regular interaction with residents, families, and staff.
• May involve working beyond regular hours or weekends.
• Call-back availability during emergencies such as severe weather or evacuations.
• Participation in ongoing education is expected.
• Exposure to potential health risks, including infectious materials and hazardous substances.
