Assistant Program Director

Surfpoint Recovery is an advanced treatment facility for substance use disorders (SUD) located in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY. We are certified by OASAS and recognized as a CARF-accredited Center of Excellence. Our center specializes in inpatient detoxification, withdrawal management, stabilization, and rehabilitation services for individuals with substance use challenges. The Assistant Program Director collaborates closely with the Clinical Director and Program Director to provide individual therapy, create treatment plans, manage cases, advocate for clients, and offer counseling and crisis intervention.

Schedule: Friday to Tuesday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Primary Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Clinical Director and Program Director to design, implement, and evaluate programs and services.
• Work with the Clinical Director, Program Director, and counselors to establish a comprehensive continuum of care for program participants.
• Assist in supervising the daily operations of counseling staff.
• Ensure that counseling staff are adequately trained in the therapeutic curriculum utilized with clients.
• Oversee the assessment of newly admitted patients and support clinical staff in scheduling treatment activities, assigning caseloads, and monitoring performance.
• Collaborate with the Program Director and Clinical Director to review clinical documentation, conducting regular quality assurance assessments to ensure compliance with record-keeping standards.
• Perform regular chart audits to verify compliance with regulations and timely documentation.
• Attend meetings led by the Clinical Director and Program Director, contributing to discussions regarding program improvements and expansions, and making recommendations as needed.
• Aid in monitoring quality assurance and improvement efforts, suggesting corrective actions to the Clinical Director and Program Director when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations concerning trauma-informed, family-focused mental health services within the inpatient treatment environment.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions and participate in case conferences.
• Conduct individual supervision sessions for counseling staff.

Qualifications:

• A Master's degree is preferred; a Bachelor's degree is required.
• Licensed as a Qualified Health Professional (QHP) in New York State (e.g., CASAC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, LCAT, or other relevant certifications).
• Preferably 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience providing direct supervision to clinical staff is preferred.
