Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Groups offers an established model of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), recognized as the leading approach for opiate use disorder treatment by reputable organizations like the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Association (SAMHSA). We support our members in reclaiming their lives through a blend of therapy and medication.

Requirements for Nurse Practitioner/Advance Practice Nurse (1099):

• Must hold an active, unrestricted State License (NP/APRN) in Iowa.
• Must possess an active, individual DEA registered in Iowa. Note that separate DEA registrations are necessary for prescribing in multiple states.
• DEAX designation or proof of completing an 8-hour Qualified Training assigned by SAMHSA is required for prescribing Buprenorphine. Experience in MAT/SUD field preferred; indirect/related experience will also be considered.
• Proof of active Board Certification (NP/APRN) in any specialty.
• Capable of working in-office at our Groups location for at least 5 hours per week.

Responsibilities for Nurse Practitioner/Advance Practice Nurse (1099):

• Conduct intake assessments, meeting with patients post-counselor evaluation.
• Monitor patients' progress during regular group counseling sessions led by specialized counseling staff. Providers assist by addressing inquiries and managing medication dosages.
• Authorize prescriptions during monthly patient panel visits.
• Complete documentation and reporting in Groups' EMR system within specified timelines. Providers undergo thorough orientation/training on Clinical Protocols before starting work with Groups.
