Our goal since the start of Groups Recover Together in 2014 has been to offer opioid addiction treatment with dignity, affordability, and availability in mind. Our evidence-based treatment model includes medication and group therapy sessions to help our members reclaim their independence.

Job Responsibilities:
At Groups, the Recovery Support Specialist works closely with newly enrolled members to ensure their successful transition to the home team and provide recovery support services to existing members. This position is essential to the treatment team, responsible for coordinating care internally and externally while addressing Social Determinants of Health. The Recovery Support Specialist also supports the members' overall well-being during their recovery journey, assisting individuals with complex social, medical, and mental health needs. The Recovery Support Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Recovery Support Specialist's work.
Essential Functions:

- Join hands with a cross-functional care team to deliver top-quality care centered on members' needs, and attend weekly interdisciplinary team meetings for maximum collaboration.
- Actively facilitate members in identifying their objectives and working towards their care plan targets through individualized counseling, offering coping strategies, and motivating participation in treatment
- Establish a weekly open office hours schedule at the Groups' office location to improve accessibility and accountability
- Ensure that members of the organization receive all necessary support by providing assistance through various means, including in-person, online, or community outreach
- Offer support and guidance to individuals in their search for appropriate local resources, including recovery centers, mental health clinics, and support meetings.
- Offer education and training sessions for community members to better understand and navigate healthcare and insurance options.
- Connect members with necessary resources, then follow up with both parties to ensure all needs have been met and any further support can be provided if needed.
- By assisting clients in navigating local care and support systems, we facilitate access to community-based resources and the local recovery community while acting as advocates for our members.
- Take part in a group therapy experience that highlights the value of peer support, exploring recovery stories, and gathering useful information about available community resources
- Follow best practices to keep up-to-date and accurate electronic health documentation.
- Fulfill the requirements for certification or licensing by actively participating in continuous education and training.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:

- Maintaining cordial relationships with internal staff, members, and relevant community organizations requires using professionalism to balance the relationships, and setting appropriate personal and professional boundaries where necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- A mandatory prerequisite for this role is having an associates degree in the Social Services field or a comparable combination of education and experience. A Bachelors degree would be advantageous
- Educational requirement A bachelor's degree is required in one of the following fields: social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or human services counseling.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in providing community-based support services
- Meeting the pre-employment requirements and following the protocols of state-specific regulations set forth for the job are crucial. This may involve completing tasks such as fingerprinting, drug tests, health screenings, CPR/ Basic First Aid certification, and license/credential verification, depending on the state requirements.
- In order to work remotely, you need to have access to dependable internet and phone services, which includes fast download speeds exceeding 40 Mbps, upload speeds over 10 Mbps, and a stable WiFi connection from wherever you are working.
